The latest release from Anyline is out – and we have a long list of new features to announce! Let’s get into it with our monthly release rundown.
Multiple possibilities with Multi-scanning
Over the past year, we have introduced different techniques to help our customers get the most from every scan they make. These updates have included sequential scanning; so that multiple sources can be collected one after the other, and automatic barcode detection for utility companies using our meter scanning technology.
With multi-scanning, it will now be possible to scan more than one data source at the same time! That means users can save time by combining two or more tasks into one action. Examples of possible applications include scanning both utility meters and their serial numbers, and collecting multiple part numbers during manufacturing processes.

Anyline for Websites
Back in June, we took ‘one giant leap for scan-kind’ with the launch of our scanning solution for websites. This innovation lets our users go ‘app-less’, and integrate Anyline scanning directly into any webpage.
It’s already proving a success, with companies like co.met proving how easy and convenient it is to integrate into their own website for their customers to use.
With this release, Anyline for Websites has been added to our demo page, so that everyone can start testing it out.
New Anyline Software Architecture
We also have a very important reminder for all Anyline users who are updating to the latest SDK. As of Anyline 16, we will phase out our old module architecture in favor of a more flexible plugin architecture.
Moving forward, the old module architecture will be taken off the SDK and will no longer be supported. This means that when you update to the latest version of Anyline, it will be necessary to adapt your code to our new architecture.
Why the change?
The previous architecture limited users from making larger modifications, so you may not be able to adapt it as easily to your desired specifications.
Using the new architecture, you will be able to choose which plugins you want to use, giving your greater freedom to adapt Anyline to your exact needs.
Customizable regex and whitelist
Another change implemented for this release brings a greater level of autonomy when implementing Anyline. Developers will now have greater customization control over the regular expressions and the choice of characters (whitelist). With greater control and specification, developers will be able to ensure a higher level of accuracy from scanning.
Faster Scanning for Windows UWP
Last but not least, we have some great news for Windows UWP users. After updating to Anyline 16, you should be able to scan twice as fast as before!
