Anyline will offer unrivaled ID verification with NFC Chip Scanning
We’re excited to announce that Anyline will soon include NFC Chip scanning for ID verification! This development will offer users the most secure and reliable mobile ID scanning solution on the market.
What is an NFC Chip?
NFC Chips are found in biometric passports and IDs, and contain additional encrypted information about the owner. They are used in situations where security is the number 1 priority and extra level of security is required. This includes border control and ID verification by police.
With Anyline, you can already instantly read passports and IDs with MRZ scanning. It’s not just accurate, but 20 times faster than manual data entry.
Now, by combining our market-leading MRZ scanning with NFC Chip reading, we will offer an unrivaled ID verification package as part of our SDK.
How does it work?
Using Anyline, scanning an NFC Chip with a mobile device will be fast and easy. Users will simply hold their phone over the passport or chipped ID card and the data will be immediately retrieved. This can then be checked immediately against the information gathered by scanning the MRZ at the bottom of the document. This results in a more secure, 2-step verification process.
When will it be available?
According to Apple, the iOS 13 will enable iPhones to read ePassports and chipped ID cards. This release is currently scheduled for a fall release – so we anticipate integrating NFC into our SDK at this time. NFC Scanning will then be available on all Anyline platforms.
