Join Us for the June Computer Vision Meetup!
The Computer Vision Meetup will take place on June 27. We once again bring you the best speakers from the world of computer vision and artificial intelligence with talks from Markus Eder, head of computer vision at Wikitude and Rene Donner, CTO at contextflow.
Something About Deep Learning – Rene Donner
Rene Donner is CTO of contextflow, who provide a radiology image search powered by deep learning. Their aim is to bring state of the art research methods into clinical practice so patients can get the best treatment possible.
Rene has been a part of the Computational Imaging Research Lab at the Department of Biomedical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy at the Medical University of Vienna. He’s also completed internships at CERN and the Austrian Research Centers Seibersdorf.
Rene is a returning speaker at the Computer Vision meetup. You can see the slides from his previous presentation here. He’ll be sharing his experience with developing deep learning technology and its influence on computer vision projects at this month’s meetup. Don’t miss it!
3D Reconstruction in a Collaborative Environment Using Smartphones
In addition to Rene, we’ll have Markus Eder, head of computer vision at Wikitude in attendance to talk about their experience developing part of the world’s leading AR platform. They’ll present on the nature of 3D reconstructions and the computer vision challenges that developers face in a collaborative environment.
The Wikitude SDK in an integral part of more than 20,000 apps. They work with small enterprises as well as many Fortune 100 companies across multiple industries. After adding 3D Tracking, allowing apps to see in rooms, spaces and environments, Wikitude’s latest version launch took their technology to the next level with object recognition and tracking.
How to Attend the Vienna Computer Vision Meetup
The meetup is hosted on the last Wednesday of every month at Anyline’s office, Die Manege. The event starts at 19:00 with a chance to grab a drink and some food before the talks begin. Food and drink is sponsored by Anyline so make sure to arrive in time to enjoy a snack!
There are normally 2 to 3 talks per meeting with short Q&A sessions after each and a networking session at the end of the evening. The networking session is also a chance to demonstrate new use cases on mobile and VR devices from time to time.
If you’d like to speak at a meetup or have questions about the next event, get in touch at [email protected] for all the details.
Until then, we look forward to seeing you all June 27, 19:00 at Die Manege, Zirkusgasse 13/2b, Wien 1020.
