Start scanning faster with a more user-friendly Anyline setup

Project Description

Start scanning sooner with a more user-friendly setup

A new release of the Anyline SDK is now available and features an easier way for developers to set up a number of our use cases, as well as the launch of Swiss driving license scanning, and improvements to our meter reading capabilities.

We also have news on how we are constantly working to ensure our products are fully up-to-date with the latest developments, and maintain the highest levels of security.

Setting up Anyline just got easier

For our newest release, we have revamped the process for setting up and scanning vehicle identification numbers (VINs), shipping container numbers, cattle tags and serial numbers.

Developers will no longer need to load the resource files with the trained models for these use cases – instead, they can simply set a scan mode via JSON or do it programatically. This will make setting up any of these scanning capabilities must easier and faster.

Swiss Driving License Scanning Launched

In our last release, we announced that Anyline could scan fields from the visual inspection zone of Swiss Passports. Now, we are covering driving license as well! As Swiss driving licenses do not conform to the ICAO international standard type, we have developed a specific capability so that our users can scan the MRZ on these documents as well.

Enhanced Digital Meter Reading

Our last development for this release is an improvement to our meter reading. Anyline already reads multiple generations of meter, whether analogue or digital – and is the perfect tool for ensuring a smooth meter exchange process. Now, our digital meter reading is even more accurate thanks to our newly improved comma detection.

Anyline is already compatible with 64-bit systems

As many readers will no doubt be aware, Google is changing their policy regarding the requirements for uploading apps to Google Play. From August 1, 2019, apps will need to support 64-bit architectures.

Luckily, we are ahead of the game, and this has already been part and parcel of the Anyline SDK since Anyline 8! That means business as usual.

Safety first! Keeping our code bullet-proof with Dependabot.

At Anyline, security is paramount, and we are constantly updating our SDK to make sure there are no security vulnerabilities. Late last month, Github announced they had acquired and integrated Dependabot, which checks through code automatically and sends a notification if it detects security vulnerabilities within dependencies.

You’ll be happy to hear that no issues were found with the Anyline SDK. We have updated all of our dependencies, but we are always vigilant to any possible vulnerabilities, and will keep our users up to date and informed on what we are doing to make sure our code is bullet-proof.

Anyline is a Gartner Cool Vendor

Gartner, the world wide research institute famous for creating the hype cycle model to predict the maturity of emerging technologies, named Anyline as a Cool Vendor for supply chain execution in 2018.

Gartner Cool Vendors exist across all major areas of technology innovation. Those that stand out, do so because they offer some disruptive capability or opportunity. Anyline has been listed as a Cool Vendor because of their mobile OCR technology. This technology is backed by artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide the most accurate scan possible.

“This is a huge success for us. Gartner are one of the best known research institutes in the tech industry. Their work on the “Magic Quadrant” and the “Hype Cycle” have helped to guide companies for years. Growing enterprises around the world rely on the analysis and reports they provide to choose only the best service providers. To be recognized by them is to receive the gold standard of approval within our field.”

– Anyline CEO, Lukas Kinigadner.

Anyline was recognized by Gartner because our technology supports the digitization of all kinds of data. By removing typing and manual data entry from everyday processes, you can save time, money and resources while also improving your data quality.
