About Us

Why Did We Start Anyline?

Smartphones are now more than 10 years old and have evolved heavily since then. More than 2 billions of people use them on a daily basis. But those Smartphones still lack one major capability.

Smartphones can’t read.

There is still a gap between what people can see and what a phone can see. We read, interpret and process information all around us. At best, your mobile device can create a video of this same information. Anyline aims to close this gap and

Anyline give every smartphone the power to read, interpret and process visual information.

We want to give your smartphone the ability to interact with analog information. And we want your smartphone to use the meaning behind this data to give you more information about your surroundings, in real time.

We’ve worked with expert developers and some of the greatest minds in machine learning to create the SDK.

In the 4 years that Anyline has existed, our reputation has grown to the point that we’re invited to give talks all around the world. In 2016, members of the Anyline development team were part of Cvpr2016, the world’s premiere computer vision conference in Las Vegas.

In 2016, Hermann Hauser, a mobile device pioneer, joined the Anyline family as an investor. We’ve been lucky enough to have his input ever since. The progress we’ve made in this time has been unimaginable.

Anyline headquarters in Vienna, Austria is a hub for computer vision technology in the region. We host monthly meetups, workshops and more to spread the word about mobile OCR.

We’ve also put together a group of trustworthy and knowledgeable investors and advisors. We now operate with business expertise given to us by top Austrian investors such as Gernot Langes-Swarovski Stiftung, Johann Hansmann, as well as a team of Angel Investors from London and Silicon Valley.

But more important than all of that, is the fact that Anyline is a powerful mobile OCR tool with a lot of potential. Our patented technology is fast and accurate, providing some of the best scan results on the market.

How Does it Work?

Anyline is the application of machine learning in a way that anyone can pick up and use. Our technology is based on a neural network. A neural network is an artificial intelligence that has been trained to accomplish certain tasks. Once trained, it’s capable of understanding new data through a series of sorting algorithms, similar to a person.

What makes us different to other mobile OCR companies is the processes behind our machine learning. Most OCR SDKs operate on the basis of still photography. You take a photo and then this photo is processed and analyzed to retrieve the relevant data.

Anyline uses your device’s video camera instead. This gives our neural network more information to work with, resulting in more accurate results.

In order to ensure we have the smartest neural network possible, we based our SDK on TensorFlow from Google. It’s an open-source software library for Machine Intelligence. With TensorFlow at the core of our SDK, the different types of data that we can scan continues to increase.
